December 14, 1995
Donations to the annual
B.R.E.A.D. holiday food
basket program for families and
people in need are going great,
according to the organization’s
director Mimi Goode. But they
sure could use more canned
fruit! Goode said B.R.E.A.D.,
which passed out 56 food
baskets at Thanksgiving,
expects to give away over 60
holiday meals at Christmas.
Over 100 youngsters got
their Christmas shopping done
last Saturday at Santa’s Secret
Shop. The special kids-only
shopping day was organized
by Lambda Chapter of Beta
Sigma Phi.
Sunday evening Dick and
Judy Ludemann were cake
and coffee guests of Art and
Alma Hagerman. Vi Coutant
and Jo Zorn attended the TOPS
Bazaar Saturday at the Upton
anywhere, anytime.”

The George Bondora family
were Christmas shopping in
Rapid City Sunday. Sunday
Cindy and Troy Dysart and
family were visitors at the home
of Carl and Hazel Kuemmerle.
Monday Jo Zorn helped Vi

Tuesday Vi Coutant and Julie
Abbott had lunch together at
the Western Cafe.
Jo Fulton attended her
grandson, Kenny’s, Christmas
program at school in Newcastle
Tuesday evening. Kenny is in
first grade.
The Lady Dogies, under
the direction of coach Steve
Walker, are walloping their way
through opponents in the early
part of the season. And fans are
excited. The girls now have a
4-0 record afier beating Buffalo
and Douglas last week.
After Newcastle’s speech

team took a first place trophy at
Sturgis, they competed back in
Wyoming at the Cheyenne East
meet. The team took only nine
of its members and those nine
brought home the second place
3A trophy.
The Blotter: Nov. 23 — A
vehicle slid off the road and
hit a post on 85. A cow was hit
by a train. Dec. 3 — Someone
lost two. mattresses which were
seen on old 85.

December 10, 1970
The Newcastle Dogies
wrestling squad lost' their
season opener last Friday
evening 24-22 to Sheridan.
Both schools won six matches
but Sheridan had thee pins
compared to two for the Dogies
and the two points difference
was the Winning margin.

in the area will be Saturday
morning, Dec. 12, at the Dogie
Theatre. The cartoon carnival,
sponsored by the Newcastle
Chamber of Commerce retail
merchants, starts at 10 am.
The Newcastle Dogies
opened their basketball season
last Friday evening with an
impressive win over Torrington
56-42. The taller Torrington
team was outplayed throughout
the game and the Dogies played
fine defense for the win.

Don Armenia received an
