Clinic Says Goodbye to Franklin
Alexis Shultz
NLJ Reporter
“It is with a heavy heart that I must
inform you of my decision to resign from
Regional Health,” Dr. Chuck Franklin
announced in a letter sent by Regional
Health to the longtime local doctor’s
patients. The letter was sent to inform those
patients that Franklin would be leaving the
Newcastle Regional Medical Clinic and
Upton Regional Medical Clinic at the end
of September, but will continue to work at
Weston County Health Services providing
emergency room care.
“I just need some time to slow down
and enjoy my family,” Franklin told the
News Letter Journal. He noted that he will
also be taking time to focus on hobbies.
Franklin explained that working
between both WCHS and the Regional
Medical Clinics required long hours, with
little time to spend with his family and do
things he enjoyed.
“Short weeks consisted of 60 hours and
long weeks were close to 80...One week,
recently, I worked 130 hours,” Franklin
professed.
He reported that his choice to stay with
WCHS and leave the clinic was driven
by the excitement that can come with
emergency care. He reported that he likes
providing emergency care, and noted that
he enjoys helping people and reassuring
patients in their time of need.
Franklin has been in NeWcastle for
One ook,lots of smiles
31 years and has worked at Newcastle
Regional Medical Clinic, which has been
known by different names over the years,
for roughly 27 years. Franklin spent his
last day actually seeing patients in the
clinic earlier this month, but will continue
to work on paperwork until September 30.
Regional Health explained in the letter
sent to patients that despite Franklin leaving
the facility, they will still remain committed
to providing patients with excellent care.
The letter also noted that they are dedicated
to making the transition from one physician
to another as easy as possible.
“It hasbeen my privilege providing care
to you, your family, friends, and neighbors
over the last 31 years,” Franklin proclaimed
in the closing of the letter.
Everyone welcome! P”

Pumpkin seeds planted in the spring produce bright orange orbs
come autumn. Tulip bulbs placed in the ground in the autumn
produce vibrantly colored flowers come springtime. There is another
seed...the seed of faith...that may be planted in the springtime of
youth or the autumn of life. Whenever faith is planted, God has
promised love. and mercy when we accept Him as our Father. Visit
your house of worship this week; plant your seed of faith in the care.
of the Creator. He tends pumpkinsnand tulips.
