Aug. 5, 1930 - June 6, 2015: Carl Leroy Wake, a longtime Worland resident, passed away at his home in Worland on June 6, 2015, sur- rounded by his devoted family. Carl was born on August CarlWake 5, 1930 in Hastings, Neb., the son of Laura Louise (Palmer) and Clyde Leroy Wake. He was raised in Newcastle, where he attended school, and excelled in athletics. He graduated from Newcastle High School in 1949, and then attended college for a year before going to work in construction and the oilfield. He married his high school sweetheart, the love of his life, Janice R. Purcelli, on September 29, 1950 in Newcastle. He worked as the first mail carrier in Newcastle, walking over 13 miles a day on a route without pavement or sidewalks. Carl joined the Wyoming Army National Guard when he was 17. He loved the service and moved to Worland in 1964 to become the office adminis- trator at the local National Guard detachment. He served in the National Guard for 41 years, and after formal retirement con- tinued as a recruiter and also an instructor at Camp Guernsey. He was active in the Worland United Methodist Church where he served in many capacities. He truly loved volunteering and working at Circle J Church Camp near Ten Sleep. He also was a member of the Worland Elks Lodge. Carl was the epitome of a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He dearly loved his grandchildren and his great grandchildren. He enjoyed being a handyman at home and spent countless hours at his Hyattville residence where he was very good at improvising and problem solving. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He took numerous trips to Alaska to fish with his sons and friends. Other past times included; trav- eling to high school, college, and professional football, basketball, and baseball events. He was preceded in death by his father. Carl is survived by his wife of 64 years and by his children; Kathy (David) Hecht, Marv (Sandee) Wake, Steve Wake, all of Worland; his mother Laura Meade of Sheridan, his sister Susan Huntley of Scottsdale, Ariz. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Katie Jones, Christie Bozicevich, Nathan Scheetz, Brooke Wake, Chelsea Wake, Codi Jorgensen, Brittany Tidemann, and Kinley Maxwell; and by seventeen great-grand- children. The funeral service for Carl was held Friday, June 12th at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Worland. A reception followed the service, and the graveside com- mittal service, with military honors, took place at 2:00 PM at Riverview Cemetery in Worland. In lieu of flowers, memo- rials may be made to Circle J Church Camp - 1301 Big Horn Ave. Worland, Wyo. 82401.Veile Mortuary is assisting the family with the arrangements. Gayle Williams (Gordon) Nov. 30, 1948 - May 19, 2015 Gayle R Williams (Gordon) 66, of Osage (formally of Sheridan) passed away May 19, 2015 after a 'i courageous battle  with breast cancer. She was born to Elsie (Phillips) pi :::::1::: ...{ and Tom Gordon on November 30, { 1948 in Sheridan, Gayle R. Wyo. Williams She started school in Sheridan, and the family moved a few times before ending up in Newcastle where she graduated in 1967. She married Alvin Williams on December 7, 1967 in Deadwood. A daughter, Crystal was bum in 1970, they later divorced. She enjoyed life to the fullest, along with numerous adventures and telling about them, most of which were funny. She also enjoyed spending time with her only grandson Dylan. Gayle is survived by her daughter Crystal Reed, grandson Dylan Reed both of Colstrip, Mont., sisters Lynda Ballieu of Newcastle, and Sue Loebs of Osage plus numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, stepfather Ed Sept, brother Tom Gordon, sister Nancy Black, nephews Jimmy Adams, Richard Ballieu, and great-nephew Brennan Kelly. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Cecil "rate Feb. 3, 1932 - Dec. 22, 2014 Cecil Tat e passed on to Heaven with his children at his side Dec. 22, Cecil Tare 2014. He put up a valiant fight with COPD and lung cancer. He was bum Feb. 3, 1932 in Chugwater, Wyo. to Merrill and Norine (McDougal) Tate. He graduated in 1950 from Newcastle High School. He served in the Wyoming National Guard and U.S. Navy. He married Marie Mitbo in 1956. He worked as a mechanic for Johnston Fuel Liners, Schlumberger and Welex. Cecil and Marie owned and operated The Home Video Shoppe in Casper for 16 years. He loved the outdoors, was an avid reader, liked to build model airplanes and could fix almost anything. He is preceded in death by his wife, Marie; son, Danny; grandson, Scan; and brothers, Duane and Ronnie. He is survived by his children, DeLayne (Dave) Stewart, Carol (Matt) Emmons and Michael (Tana); six grandchildren; ten great- grandchildren; sisters, Minta (Earl) Gray and Sharon (Eugene) Sweet; and sister- in-law, Virginia Tate. Memorial services will be held Friday, June 19th at 11 AM at the Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery. Newcastle Lodge No. 13, A.E & A.M.
