According to an article in The Hot Springs Star, the
weekly newspapr of ttot Springs, South Dakota, the citizens
of Edgemont, South Dakota have accepted the uranium pro-

The Wyoming University Band
composed of about eighty stu-
dents and under the direction of
Edgar Lewis, delighted a large
crowd in the new High School
Gymnasium with their concert
selections and marches.
The group arrived i~Newcas-
tle Tuesday evening after being
detained in a snow storm at LuRk.
They were given dinner Tuesday
evening by women of the Episco-
pal church and breakfast Wednes-
day morning by the women of the
Methodist church. The students
were housed for the most part in
the homes of members of Lion's.
Club, the sponsoring organize-I
tion. Several of - the Tourists!
courts and Hotels donated room
for the purpose.

the band sang two numbers Ger-
ald Gardner of Newcastle was the
only local member making the
trip into Northeastern Wyoming.
This was the third consecutive
trip for the Band to Newcastle
and music lovers of tl~e commun-
ity are anxious to keep it an an-

Mr. Butts was born in Moor-
head, Iowa, Sept. 2, 1870. As a
small boy he moved to Decator,
Nebr. and there grew to man-
hood. He was united in marriage
to Grace A. Clark at Pender, Neb.
Oct. 18, 1899. The couple lived at
Plainview, Nebr. following their
marriage where Mr. Butts was en-
gaged in farming and they moved
to Wyoming in 1929.
Mr. and Mrs. Butts were the
parents of seven children, one
daughter and six sons.
Survivors include Mr. Butts'
wife, his children, Doris Mowry
of Minatare, Nebr Alvan of
Moorcroft, George of Newcastle,
Harold of Cheyenne, Clark of
Custer, S. D Lloyd of Neligh,
Nebr. and Watson of Keystone,
S. D.; 21 grandchildren, 12 great
grandchildren, three sisters, two
brothers, in addition to many oth-
er relatives and friends.

Side Liners Will
Honor Athletes
A member of the athletic staff
of the University of Colorado is
scheduled to address Side-Line
Club members and their guests at
a dinner April 28 at Avery's Steak
House. Special guests at this
meeting will be the coaches of
Newcastle High school and mem-
bers of the wrestling, basketball
and track teams.
Time of the dinner will be 8
o'clock in tbe evening. Admission
for Side-Line Club members will
be $2.75 which will include a meal
for one of the athletes. A large.
attendance is expected. Ticket~
are available from the Newcastle.
