was supposed to be better than Duke
without Okafor. In fact, right after the big
man had to sit down, Allen put the Blue
Devils on his back and single-handedly
cut the Badger's nine point lead to one in
a matter of minutes.
From there on out, Allen and Jones
made play after play on both ends of
the court to help Duke claw and fight
it's way to their 5th NCAA Division 1
Championship with legendary Coach
Mike Krzyzewski, Coach K, at the helm.
Though this was not Duke's first title,
it was these players' first title, and the
excitement and joy was palpable in the
after-game interviews.
As the game ended, though my bracket
was busted, my basketball-loving heart
certainly was not. What a great tourna-
ment and what a fantastic way to end the
college basketball season!
With the season one day over, I'm
already looking forward to the next one.
Hopefully, it lives up to my expectations.
