Maurice L. Hubbs
August 1, 1927 - March 7, 2015
Maurice Hubbs of Bellvue, Colo.,
passed away March 7, 2015 at Greeley,
Colorado Hospice Center.
Maurice was born August 1, 1927, to
Fred A. and Harriet F. (Kropp) Hubbs in
Milliken, Colo. He married Shirley E
McCune on Feb. 8, 1946.
Maurice is survived by his sons,
Maurice L. Hubbs Jr. and David S. Hubbs
of Evans, Colo.; daughters, Kathy (Wm.
"Butch") Townsend of Newcastle, and
Sandra (Charles) Wilmoth of Evans,
Colo.; grandson Derrick Hubbs and grand-
daughter, Amanda (Patrick) O'Bryan and
four great-grandchildren, Logan, Davis,
Jaxon and Evelyn O'Bryan of Littleton,
Colo. and brother Fred A (Nancy) Hubbs
of Bennett, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his wife,
parents, two sisters and a brother.
Memorial services will be held at a
later date.
David L Rossman
August 15, 1951 - March 26, 2015
David L. Rossman was born August
15, 1951 and left us unexpectedly on
March 26, 2015. Graveside services will
be held April 15, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with
Pastor Ron Sample officiating.
Dave graduated from high school in
Newcastle. On February 11, 1978 Dave
married Dree Deckert in Newcastle. A year
later they moved to the Tri-Cities, where
Dave joined the Operating Engineers
Union. Dave worked for several years in
the off-shore oil drilling business, living
and traveling in many interesting places
including Scotland, London, Venezuela
and Aruba. After returning to Tri-Cities,
he worked at Hanford, well-drilling until
a work injury forced him to retire in 1992.
Dave loved fishing, hunting and
camping. Dave would do anything for
anybody anytime--no questions asked.
He was generous to a fault, fun and
carefree, sweet and quick to laugh, a
great handyman who could fix or remodei
anything, and a master on the BBQ. His
warmth and charm drew people to him.
Dave wouldn't admit it, but he loved
his little "rat dog", Phick. What started
out as a temporary dog sitting situation
turned into a 15 year relationship. Dave
was caught sharing his ice cream with
Phick more than once.
For the last several years Dave strug-
gled with chronic pain, deep depression
and discouragement, leading to isolation
and feelings of hopelessness. Dave will
be missed by his lifelong companion,
Dree, his son, Kevin, his siblings and
their spouses (Sandy and Don Fillinger,
Randy and Carol Rossman, Laurie and
Tony Farella, Linda and Dave Grinde, and
Lonnie and Dick Miller), two granddaugh-
ters, Bailey and Olivia, numerous nieces,
nephews and good friends. Dave's parents,
Francie and Bob Rossman, preceded him
in death.
Patricia Stordahl
September 30, 1926 - April 1, 2015
Patricia Stordahl, 88 of Upton, passed
away on April 1, 2015 in Newcastle at
her home.
Patricia Mary Waldron was born to
William and Amy (Rogers) Waldron on
September 30, 1926 in Chamberlain, S.D.
Pat's dad passed away when she was three
years old. Amy later married H.E Jack
Fuller and he became her dad. Pat went
to Nursing School in Yankton, S.D. and
married Gordon Van Offeren in June 1947.
They owned a trucking company
together with morn taking calls and
doing books. Gordon took her to dinner
and dancing every Saturday night as a
thank-you.
Pat was a great cook and had a good
heart sharing meals with shut-ins. Pat
inherited her green thumb from her grand-
mother, Nanny. She shared her flowers
with the town at the post office, bank,
library and church. She was also quite
an artist sharing her paintings with many.
She had a beautiful voice and sang at
church, weddings, funerals and at Mondell
Heights.
Gordon passed away in November
1979. Pat married Dick Stordahl in 1983.
Dick made lawn ornaments and Pat
painted them. She loved crafts and made
cross bookmarkers and shared them with
anyone who commented on them.
In August of 1996, her daughter, Vicky
Boyles had a brain aneurysm leaving her

want our
top artifact
In celebration of 125 years of Wyoming
statehood, the Wyoming State Historical
Society, in partnership with the University
of Wyoming Libraries, invites museums,
historical societies and other institutions
to participate in a contest to identify
"Wyoming's Most Significant Artifacts."
At this time only artifacts held by institu-
tions will be considered, not those held by.
individuals.
An artifact is defined as "an artistic or.
historic item (or related group of items),
and may include a wide variety of things
such as documents, books, photographs,
recordings, artwork, and three-dimensional
objects. It does not include structures or
buildings."
"With the celebration of Wyoming's'
Quasquicentennial this year, this program
will bring attention to the state's cultural
heritage and the institutions that serve that.
heritage to the public," Society President.
Tamsen Hert said.
Representatives of Wyoming's archives,
historical societies, libraries and museums
across the state will be allowed to nominat6
just one item from their collections that
they believe has significance to Wyoming's
history.
An independent panel of judges will
review the initial nominations and narrow
the selections down to 25 ;.'ects. The
public will then be given the portunity
to vote for their favorite artifact to be
included in the top ten!
Submissions from institutions must be
submitted in an electronic format, anff
are due no later than April 20, 2015-
Submissions must include a photograph,
along with an official nomination form
that can be found at http://www-lib.uwyo.

On a crude and cruel cross amid jeers and tears, God's only Son,
lesus, died a terrible and painful death. On the third day, Jesus
escaped the grave, the stone unmoved. Easter is not about defeat;
Easter is about victory! It was God's plan for our salvation; He
watched His own Son die a slow and agonizing death to atone for
our si_n.s. God loved us that much.; He loves us that much today. If
we allow that one thought to dwell in our heart we will have the
courage to conquer any fear and accept the gift of peace that comes
with accepting His will .for us. Worship this Easter and. welcome
God's love into your heart.
